As the end of summer comes to an end and fall quickly begins to pick up I plan to keep my summer glow throughout the season even when the weather begins to change. Keeping your skin radiant and glowing begins on the inside and inevitably will be seen on the outside. I’ve listed a few methods that help that inner glow, as well as, help enhance the outer glow. Here are a few obvious and not so obvious ways to keep your inner glow shining throughout the year. Here’s how:
I know everyone says to hydrate, but it is so true! If you want to keep your glow you have to hydrate your body. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces. This will keep you feeling refreshed and prevent dryness of the skin.
If you want your skin to continue glowing from within Vitamin C serums are anti-aging and help bring out your inner glow. Apply 2-3 drops of your favorite Vitamin C serum every night after cleansing and before your moisturizer. You’ll wake up looking radiant inside and out! I like to use Glossier’s Super Glow Serum and it makes my skin feeling soft and smooth the next day.
MASSAGE YOUR FACE
Your face is made up of tiny muscles that you use every day. Even they need a massage every once in a while. You can do this a couple times a week with your fingers or use face massagers like jade roller. Put the product in the fridge for an added cooling effect while you massage your face.
If you need any added boost to your tan and want to do it sans uva and uvb sun rays I suggest grabbing the Kate Somerville Face Tanning wipes for easy touch ups and application. This is the perfect product for when you’re in a pinch for a tan.
For added enhancement of your glowing skin bronzer and a touch of highlight can do the job. Creamy highlights like Josie Maran Argan Oil Highlighter will give the illusion that you were out at the beach all day. Powdered highlights can be drying and can give off a different look than intended. Sometimes I like to use Honest Beauty’s Magic balm for a sparkle free highlight. It still accentuates the parts of the face I want to enhance and gives an “I’ve been in the sun all day” kind of glow.
Even if there is less sun during the fall season you must always use sunscreen. Even the subtlest of sunrays can damage your skin. We want healthy, radiant looking skin not damaged, wrinkly skin. I like to use a tinted daily moisturizer every day on top of the moisturizer I already use with SPF in it.
SHORTER HOT SHOWERS
Exposing your skin to too much heat can cause your skin to dry out more. I know it is tempting to stay in the hot shower longer during a cold day, but think about your skin! If you do decide to stay in a bit longer, however, towel off keeping your body a little damp and immediately put on moisturizer. This will ensure that you skin soaks up the hydrating nutrients from the moisturizer.
