If you’re heading to Cuba, chances are you’re likely heading into some really humid weather. Cuba is a tropical country located between Jamaica and the Bahamas and if you’ve never been to Cuba before I highly suggest planning out your outfits. It’s always a good idea to pre-plan your wardrobe before packing for a trip because you decrease the risk of over-packing or forgetting something. In this edition of Step Into Your Style, I’m going to share with you my outfit choices for my trip to Cuba.
For this trip I wanted to play with the tropical vibe of Cuba, however, I also wanted to blend in as much as I could with the locals. I made sure to pack clothes that were lightweight, versatile and comfortable while also making sure I stay true to my style. It’s also good to think about the activities you will be doing if you know already, as well as, how you will be traveling. I decided I wanted to fit everything in one backpack for my entire trip so I had to make sure I brought items that could easily mix and match and that were also easy to pack.
One of my outfits was inspired by my love of the 70s and the frozen in time feeling of Cuba.
I wanted something breathable and comfortable. This knitted top added a nice accent to the brown, suede shorts and gave me the breathability that I was looking for.
HOWEVER, if you watched my YouTube video you will find out that these shorts broke in the middle of the day and I had to MacGyver a way to make sure it stayed up.
This outfit was inspired by one of my favorite shoe companies, Soludos. I take these espadrille ballet flats with me everywhere because they are so comfortable and match with everything! The Zara boyfriend jeans allowed my legs to breathe and this striped top from Forever21 just screamed tropical vacation. This outfit was perfect for walking around Old Havana.
My outfit for Varadero Beach was probably my favorite. I wore a kimono from BCBG Generation that gave me the perfect accent and coverage over my Victoria Secret bathing suit. I also loved my off-the-shoulder jean dress from Forever 21, but I unfortunately was not able to take a full body picture of it.
