DEAR BROAD

November 21, 2015

Even when I’m staying in town I like to explore what my city has to offer. It amazes me how much I find places that I never knew were there. I recently decided to walk around Downtown Los Angeles, have lunch at Grand Central Market and check out the Broad Museum (note: pronounced brode, not brahd).

I enjoyed a lot of the artwork in the museum, including the famous Infinity Room, but my favorite was the furniture built for giants! Afterwards, I explored downtown and had some burritos and ice cream at Grand Central Market.

Here are a few things you should take into consideration before going to the Broad Museum and having a day in Downtown Los Angeles.

PARKING

Park in a lot a few blocks down from the Broad Museum. Parking can be very expensive in Los Angeles. The cheapest way is to find one of these lots. You can find some for $9 for the whole day.

PLAN AHEAD

The line can get long at the Broad Museum. Arrive early or reserve a ticket online ahead of time. I highly suggest doing this especially for the Infinity Room!

WALK

If you want to go from one place to another in DTLA walking is a great way to do it! You get a lot of exercise and discover shops and places you never would have noticed if you were driving. Plus you don’t want to pay for parking again! Walking is healthy and saves you money. It’s a win-win!

EAT

I suggest walking over to the Grand Central Market where there is a plethora of food to choose from! You’ll be sure to find something to your liking there and don’t forget dessert!

SIGHT SEEING

When walking around DTLA you can stop by the famous bench in 400 days of summer, admire the Disney Concert Hall building, or go up to the rooftop of Perch and see a beautiful view of the city.

Whatever it is you decide to do remember to keep your eyes open. You may find something you never knew was there!
